Systems Administrator

Position Overview

NFP Health Services Administrators is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our highly collaborative team. This employee will be the hands-on technical personnel driving the success of IT support through administration, automation, system management, maintenance, and deployment of IT systems in a HIPAA compliant environment. The Systems Administrator will also be responsible for optimizing network and systems uptime, providing technical guidance for infrastructure improvements, and assisting with the direction of the company’s overall technology strategy.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily system administration and support for various technology related issues across all branches
  • Troubleshooting, managing, provisioning Servers (Windows 2008/2012/2016)
  • Support Microsoft SQL Databases
  • Data Backup/Replication
  • Network/Systems availability and performance monitoring
  • Manage the deployment of appropriate security/server patches and software updates
  • Develop and manage maintenance plans and schedules for all systems in scope
  • Troubleshoot system failures quickly to minimize outages or interruptions and provide root cause analysis
  • Maintain clear and concise technical and process documentation of all systems and processes in scope
  • Manage, and maintain systems/network monitoring solutions, notification, and response
  • Plan, execute and maintain system security initiatives and the reporting of security relevant events
  • Utilize Helpdesk Ticketing system to manage issues and assist Desktop support administrator when needed
  • Assist with making new software/hardware purchases and lead the deployment new or updated technology
  • Perform infrastructure changes and assist with new implementations, including the following:
    • Software/hardware changes and upgrades for file servers, application servers, and networking systems
    • Web Servers and custom web applications
    • Network infrastructure over multiple hosting facilities with high availability services and SLAs
    • Implementation and maintenance of virtual servers
  • Support complex network problems or network infrastructure issues and manage the performance and capacity of infrastructure and applications
  • Communicate and collaborate with both internal and external technology departments and all end users
  • Other related duties and tasks as required.

Skills and Knowledge
  • Proven success with hands-on administration in a Windows based network environment
  • Experience in the following areas: MS Active Directory (AD administration, group policy, etc.), Windows 2008 Server, SQL 2005-2012, Microsoft IIS
  • Demonstrated knowledge in industry standard remote access solutions (VPN, SSL VPN, Citrix)
  • Experience with implementing and managing security (users, roles, security groups)
  • A desire to learn new things and continually improve yourself and your team. Must care about the success of themselves, their teammates and the Company as a whole
  • Professional attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong customer service focus
  • Attention to detail, comprehensive problem and troubleshooting solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of internal technology departments, end-users and management, as well ask with 3rd party partners and vendors

  • Minimum of 2 years hands-on, relevant experience in systems administration
  • 2+ years of professional experience in Microsoft based infrastructure
  • 2+ years managing data Enterprise/SMB backup and protection solutions

Experience/Skills in These Areas Are a Plus:
  • Microsoft (MCSA, MCSE), Cisco (CCNA, CCDA), and VMWare (VCP5-DCV) certifications
  • Familiarity with a HIPAA compliant environment
  • Experience deploying and managing VMWare ESX based Windows virtual servers desired
  • SAN based storage or any Enterprise storage experience desired
  • Knowledge of layer 2/3 switching, some experience with layer 3 routing and enterprise Network technologies desired
  • Telco Experience, VOIP Cloud hosting experience
  • Scripting skills with Powershell or Visual Basic

Software Developer

Position Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join our organization as a Software Developer.  This employee will join our rapidly growing applications team at NFP Health Services Administrators.  The ideal candidate must possess exceptional software development skills.  Job requires great attention to detail and outstanding follow up skills. 

Position Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Code, test, and implement complex programs from user specifications; develop appropriate programs and systems documentation according to established IT practices.
  • Support and troubleshoot production systems as required to ensure availability, optimize performance, and respond to user inquires in a timely fashion.
  • Provide routine maintenance to in-house applications.
  • Develop and execute test plans both for internal and external solutions.
  • Provide ad hoc data extraction / analysis in support of management.
  • Develop and analyze functional specifications.
  • Develop and execute deployment plans for new / updated systems.
  • Work with vendors to resolve interface issues.
  • Develop and maintain user documentation as required.
  • Develop and maintain development and staging environments.

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate with both Technical and Non-technical personnel both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong understanding of C#, ASP.NET and the .NET framework.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SOA-based concepts and strategies.
  • Relational database knowledge including SQL Server and / or Oracle.
  • Understanding of testing practices for both unit testing and overall system regression and functionality testing.
  • Ability to interpret functional specifications to produce a component / module design.
  • Understanding of general web-based application development practices including HTML, client side scripting, AJAX, and web applications servers.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related area required.
  • Minimum of four years programming experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in hands-on C# programming required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience developing web-based applications required.
  • Minimum of two years of relational database experience required.
  • Minimum of two years of object-oriented programming experience required.
Experience/Skills in These Areas Are a Plus:
  • PowerBuilder experience.
  • Healthcare (insurance) domain experience.
  • Solution design/architecture experience.
  • Self-guided, with demonstrable projected references.
  • Microsoft certifications a plus (or other relevant training).
